Rev. Dr. Robert H. Bennett, PhD.
Dr. Robert H. Bennett is the executive director of Luther Academy. Before accepting the position to Luther Academy, Dr. Bennett served as the administrative pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Reese, Michigan (2009-2014) and senior pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Benzonia, Michigan (2001-2009). He enjoys teaching in the areas of the Lutheran Confessions and pastoral theology. Dr. Bennett also serves as an international mission specialist and Guest Professor of Missions at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Lord has blessed him and Angela, his wife of 30+ years, with four children: two sons (Robert & Joseph) and two daughters (Amy & Kate). His hobbies are collecting books and traveling. Dr. Bennett holds the degrees of B.A. from Concordia University, Ann Arbor (Human Resource Management); M.Div. (Exegetical Studies); S.T.M. (Exegetical Studies); and Ph.D. (Missiology) from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne Indiana. His Ph.D. research focused on the growth of the Lutheran Church of Madagascar (F.L.M.). Dr. Bennett’s research has led to the publishing of his first book on the subject of Malagasy Lutheranism, I Am Not Afraid: Demon Possession and Spiritual Warfare. Dr. Bennett is also the author of Afraid: Demon Possession and Spiritual Warfare in America and numerous journal articles and book reviews. Before entering the holy ministry, Dr. Bennett held various secular vocations in the areas of management (United Parcel Service) and process engineering (The AARELL CO).Dr. Bennett has had extensive trips in Madagascar and Haiti. He has also now been to most of the Luther Academy sites throughout the world.
